The Trigger
As November begins, we pause to remember lives lost in wars past, from the trenches of WWI to the ravaged cities of WWII. But today, it is not only history that haunts us. Civilians in Gaza are living a nightmare—an unrelenting genocide that has consumed homes, families, and the very fabric of life. It’s a month when we should be paying our respects to those lost in conflicts long past, yet tens of thousands of innocent lives are being taken right now.
A Grim Reality
Close to an estimated quarter million Palestinians—have been killed, among them, almost half children, their lives extinguished far too soon. The injured are estimated at 120,000 and the death toll in Lebanon is estimated at 2,800 civilians. Each number, each statistic, represents a human story. Blockades in Gaza are cutting off food, water, and medical aid, leaving children to suffer a slow death through starvation and malnutrition.
The destruction of hospitals, cutting of electricity, and depletion of water have collapsed the healthcare system, while the targeting of ambulances and killing of medical personnel and journalists further aggravates this escalating onslaught.
